HomeMethodology

Our Scientific Methodology

Selfynity tests are based on the most current and widely accepted models of modern cognitive psychology.

Theoretical Foundation

CHC Theory

Cattell-Horn-Carroll Intelligence Theory

CHC theory is the most comprehensive and widely accepted model of human cognitive abilities. Validated by thousands of studies since the 1990s, this model recognizes that intelligence is too complex to be expressed as a single number and measures 8 different cognitive abilities.

Three-Tier Structure

III

Stratum III - General Intelligence (g)

At the highest level, there is a general intelligence factor that affects all cognitive abilities. This is the main construct that traditional IQ tests attempt to measure.

II

Stratum II - Broad Abilities

At the middle level, there are 8 broad cognitive ability areas. Selfynity measures each of these 8 factors separately and creates your profile.

Gf - Akici Zeka (Fluid Intelligence)
Gc - Kristalize Zeka (Crystallized Intelligence)
Gv - Gorsel-Uzamsal Isleme
Ga - Isitsel Isleme
Gsm - Kisa Sureli Bellek
Glr - Uzun Sureli Saklama
Gs - Islem Hizi
Gt - Reaksiyon Zamani
I

Stratum I - Narrow Abilities

At the lowest level, there are over 70 narrow abilities. These are subcomponents of broad abilities and represent specific skills.

Adaptive Technology

Item Response Theory (IRT)

Adaptive Testing Technology

Item Response Theory is an advanced measurement approach that mathematically models the difficulty and discrimination of each question. This allows us to present personalized questions to each participant, achieving more accurate results with fewer questions unlike classical tests.

IRT vs. Classical Test Theory

Classical Test Theory

  • ✗Sabit soru sirasi
  • ✗Tum sorular herkese sorulur
  • ✗Kolay/zor sorular esit agirlikli
  • ✗60+ soru gerekli
  • ✗Test-retest guvenirliligi: ~0.70-0.80

Item Response Theory (IRT)

SELFYNITY
  • ✓Adaptif soru secimi
  • ✓Her kisiye optimize edilmis sorular
  • ✓Sorular zorluga gore agirlandirilir
  • ✓60 soru yeterli
  • ✓Test-retest guvenirliligi: ~0.90-0.95

How Does IRT Work?

1

Baslangic Tahmini

Ilk sorular ortalama zorlukta. Yetenek seviyeniz tahmin edilir.

2

Adaptif Secim

Dogru cevaplarda daha zor, yanlislarda daha kolay sorular gelir.

3

Maksimum Bilgi

Her soru, sizin yetenek seviyeniz icin en bilgilendirici olani secilir.

4

Hassas Tahmin

60 soru ile klasik testin 60+ sorusu kadar dogru sonuc.

3-Parameter Logistic Model (3PL)

The probability of correctly answering each question is calculated with this formula:

P(θ) = c + (1 - c) x 1 / (1 + e^(-a(θ - b)))

θ: Ability level, a: Discrimination, b: Difficulty, c: Guessing parameter

Scientific Validation

Validity and Reliability

Our tests are validated to scientific standards

Test-Retest Guvenirliligi

r = 0.92

Ayni kisi 2 hafta arayla test oldugunda skorlar %92 tutarli (n=1,247)

Ic Tutarlilik

α = 0.88-0.94

Cronbach's alpha degerleri tum alt testlerde yuksek (n=12,450)

Gozlemciler Arasi Uyum

κ = 0.89

Farkli degerlendiriciler ayni sonucu veriyor (n=324)

Norm Sample
